Nopes!!!!!

Posted by Shrikant on Friday, August 30, 2013
What makes a real American?
A cowboy hat? Enjoying a fine T-bone steak?
Going to a baseball game? Shooting a gun?
Maybe it’s the freedom to go into a poor country and tell them how to do things?
Heh! Those are all great qualities!
But one thing that makes a true patriot is the ability to choose an American car!
When you buy an import you take a hot meal off a hardworking American’s table.
These poor Yanks are going to starve to death, just because you bought a cheaper, more efficient Asian car.
Without gross symbols of excess, what will Americans have to look up to?
Our great industries are threatened! Cars, pornography, armaments!
And they need your help!
So the next time you buy a car, a piece of adult literature or a missile defense system!
Make sure you do the American thing!!!!!

Nopes, I am not going to write a hate post about how the Yanks and their culture of excesses and how their life is affecting us poor Indians. This is just an excerpt taken from an advert playing on the radio of a car that I just jacked while I was playing Grand Theft Auto Vice City!!!!!

Nopes, I am not going to write about computer games either. Just wanna show you some pics that I clicked the other day. Behold Lord Ganesha!!!!!

Nopes, I am not going to write about Ganeshotsav either. Its just around the corner. But these so called Ganesh Mandals are already preparing for it. And going all out in the preps. These pics were take last week. Still 2 weeks to go and they have already brought or should I say Bought the Lord to their pandal. And while bringing it - A HUGE FANFARE - A HUGE RUCKUSS and A HUGE CROWD. So huge that it managed to clog the traffic for more than an hour. So huge that even public transport buses had to be diverted from their routes if people wanted to reach their destinations!!!!!

Nopes, this is not excess. This is just a symbol of doing the INDIAN thing!!!!!

PS: I am not against any kind of religious or other such celebrations. Just hoping that people should be considerate enough so as to not inconvenience others with their celebrations!!!!!

PS2: I just picked a huge bag of exclamation marks at the monsoon sale which I have liberally deposited at the end of each paragraph in this post. The "Nopes" are freebies!!!!!

Do the Dooo

Posted by Shrikant on Thursday, August 22, 2013
Imagine Celine Dion singing My Heart will go on... With Leo and Kate in their trademark Titanic pose on the bow. Now replace the word heart in the song with FART.. and IMAGINE... ewwwwwww isn't it?? Care for some more toilet humour??

Take a look at this. Homo Sapiens Sapiens - More thinking man. The main reason behind human evolution from Homo Erectus (non thinking par apne pairon par khada) was the channelisation of random thoughts while doing the doooo.

That got you curious right??

Now before you get even more curious, I shall not be talking any more about the potty and the humour that goes with it. Check out my guest post on Snuffles' blog

Gone Reading

Posted by Shrikant on Sunday, August 11, 2013
Been reading for these past 2 days. Nothing specific, just a random set of blogs. Haven't "written" a post in the past few months, the last month witnessing a flurry of photographic posts which can be seen here. So just penning down a few random thoughts.

Read a post about different kinds of bloggers based on the way they respond to the comments that their readers post. Trouble is, I find it really very difficult to fit myself in any of those stereotypes. WHY?

I have been on and off blogosphere since March 2008. But have always written for myself. What I write always manages to make me smile. At least most of it. Makes me wonder, I do write pretty well. Now that would be like Donkey praising his own tail, but so be it. This is my space :D

And then I read this post about people coming and going in your life. Some staying and making a mark on your life. So much that you can't imagine life without them. But one fine day, they are gone. Some people are devastated, some curse those who left, some simply delete "the Departed" from their memories and Hard drives. Life moves on. There was a nice comment on this post. Not reposting the comment, just my version of what I understood.

Most relationships are based on Need rather than (like people claim) on Love. People need company, need someone to share their spare time, their thoughts, their experiences, their worries etc etc. So a relationship. People need someone to do the dishes, to go out and buy the groceries, to hold all the packages whilst they shop, to drive them home. So a relationship. So Need is the primary reason for any relationship and Love just raises its head once in a while.

This can be a great topic for debate. But my blog is not one of the highly visited ones, so I can be at ease without worry of being flamed/trolled/rebuked.

To conclude, I also read a sad story - can't call it love story as the relationship ended in just 4 love letters and a phone call. But the highlight of this story was that though both the girl and the guy were heart broken, they had something positive to look forward to. Not sure if there was enough consolation for a heartbreak. But yeah, it's been a long time since I read such a love story.

What made me write this post. One of my readers (may his tribe increase) commented on a post of mine, saying that I have a great knack of posting poems/songs that go along with a photo that I capture and post. So why not try and pen my own lines. This is the start to following that piece of advice

The title of this post is inspired from a post on the Facebook page for Crossword Bookstores. Image taken from that post.

Four Leaved Clover

Posted by Shrikant on Sunday, August 04, 2013

Hope this brings me luck :D

And as usual some more lines to read along

I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before
First is the sunshine, the second is rain
Third is the roses that bloom in the lane

There's no need explaining
The one remaining is somebody I adore
I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before

-Willie Nelson
