Now listen
I wanna shake, I wanna dance
So count it of one, two, three
I hear the beat, I'm in a trance
No better place to be
Daytime, nighttime, anytime
Things go better with rock
I'm goin' twenty four hours a day
I can't seem to stop
Turn up the radio
I need the music, gimme some more
Turn up the tape machine
I wanna feel it and you know what I mean
Now that she'd spoken to Dheeraj, she felt quite peppy and energetic. She was even jiggling in her seat to the beat of the song. The song had just finished when she reached her regular breakfast joint. She walked it. It sure was crowded. Once more. Like always. She liked the place. But she liked it to be a little less noisier. But there was nothing as good as this place so she thought that she'd have to bear with it. Bear with it and hope that it will become less crowded in the days to come atleast when she wanted to visit it.
Looking for a table to sit at, she noticed that there was no empty table. A bit disappointed, she was about to leave when she noticed someone waving to her. It was Vivek. He beckoned her to sit at his table. She smiled gladly.
This guy - Vivek was a dreamy person. A nice person, from what little Sakshi had interacted with him but dreamy. He was always in a world of his own. And always had got startled whenever she'd spoken to him.
"Hi Vivek!"
"Hi Sakshi... Happy Monday!"
She looked a bit surprised. Pleasantly surprised. How did he know she liked Mondays? Her turn to stutter. "Uh.. huh.. Hmmm.. Happy Monday Vivek!" A smooth recovery with a dazzling smile.
"So what makes you like Mondays, Vivek? Most of us hate coming to office on Mondays.. excluding me of-course. I hate weekends. Tooo boring. You can call be a workaholic if you prefer, but I love coming to office."
Vivek took time to take all of this in. It was the first time that Sakshi had uttered more than a single sentence directed towards him. Slowly he replied, "Yeah me too. I hate sitting at home. It's more fun being outside."
She'd just given her order when her phone jingled again. It was Dheeraj once more. Her face lit up once more. As usual!!!
"Yo, Sweety!!"
I hung up the phone tonight
Something happened for the first time
Deep inside
It was a rush
What a rush
'Cause the possibility
That you would ever feel the same way
About me
It's just too much
Just too much
Why do I keep running from the truth?
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized
So mesmerized
And I've just got to know
A second beep from the phone brought Sakshi to her senses. She'd been staring at her phone lost in David Archuleta's song.
"Dreaming dearie?? or writing a story for me?"
"No no.. was just lost in thought. You say"
"Dearie, could you step in for me for just a little while. I know its Monday and all and you'll be having a lot on your plate. But I need to be somewhere right now. Will be in office by noon. "
"Oh sure Dheeraj, don't worry. I'll try my best so that no work remains stuck just cuz ure absent. You want me to give the boss some excuse for you?"
"Naww.. just tell the old man that his best employee is gonna be slightly late :P I don't think he'd be mad. Not more than he already is :P"
"LOL Ok. I'll let him know and I'll get all your calls diverted to my desk till you return. You get your work done. Will meet you at noon."
"Awwwww... you're such a darling <3"
":) Take care."
Smiling crazily, she gulped her coffee and sandwiches and hurried out of the Cafe. It was only then that she realised, that she hadn't said a word to Vivek when she left. And she'd even forgotten to pay her bill. But it was too late to go back now. All damage control would have to wait till tomorrow.
