Wishing Douglas Adams (11 March 1952 – 11 May 2001) a Very Happy Birthday. And for his birthday I would have liked to gift to him one of his favorite objects - a Towel. It has great practical value - you can wrap it around you for warmth when you are cold; you can lie on it whilst on a beach inhaling salty vapours of the sea or if you wish to, you may lie under it as well; wet it and use it in hand to hand combat; or wrap it around you head to avoid the obnoxious fumes and/or the obnoxious glares from the equally or not so equally obnoxious person next to you; and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
Anyways, digressing from the point about how useful the gift would be and undigressing to the point of wishing Douglas a Very Happy Birthday. He has been a major influence on some of my writings almost up to the point that you may say that I have shamelessly picked up lines from his writings to add spice to my writings. And I feel no shame in admitting this, cuz I am not claiming that these insanely funny lines are a figment of my imagination. In fact, even in this post, a lot of lines are his.
And yeah, Douglas Adams is the first person to have actually managed to write a trilogy, The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy. Wait a minute, it's not just a trilogy, anybody can write a trilogy. It's a Trilogy in Four Parts. Read it and Don't Panic!!!
I am a day late in posting this but I was too busy fiddling with the insane Google Doodle that Google has made for this great humorist. Wish I could post it here, but its not to be.
Long Live Douglas Adams!!!
